The name\u00a0Lambayeque<\/i>\u00a0is a Spanish derivation of the god\u00a0Yampellec<\/i>, said to have been worshipped by the first Lambayeque king,\u00a0Naymlap.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

The museum was constructed as a modern and functional facility, inspired by the works of the 20th-century French architect,\u00a0Le Corbusier.<\/p>\n

The more than 1500 pieces come from different indigenous cultures, including an invaluable textile collection and ceramics of\u00a0Chim\u00fa\u00a0and\u00a0Vic\u00fas. Thousands of golden objects are kept in sealed rooms, including funeral masks of copper, ceremonial vessels, an extraordinary necklace and jewelry of\u00a0Mochica\u00a0and Chim\u00fa cultures, as well as pieces of the\u00a0Lambayeque culture.<\/p>\n

Huaca Rajada<\/strong><\/p>\n

Is a\u00a0Moche\u00a0archaeological site in northern\u00a0Peru. This place is famous for the tomb of\u00a0Lord of Sip\u00e1n.\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

Many of the tombs were looted, yet the artifacts that remained and were discovered by archaeologists play an important role in understanding the Moche rulers and tradition. Tombs have been found also in Sip\u00e1n’s\u00a0Huaca Rajada, an area near\u00a0Chiclayo.<\/p>\n

The tombs in the area are of\u00a0adobe\u00a0construction, of pyramidal shape, and have now shown erosion which could have been exacerbated over time by successive\u00a0El Ni\u00f1o<\/i>\u00a0events.<\/p>\n

when visiting the site we were told that because of the lack of foundings the other mountings around it have not been excavated.<\/p>\n

Museo Tumbas Reales de Sipan<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Royal Tombs of Sip\u00e1n Museum\u00a0(Museo Tumbas Reales de Sip\u00e1n) is a museum in\u00a0Lambayeque, Peru. It contains most of the important artifacts (ceremonial vessels, necklaces and jewelry) found at\u00a0Huaca Rajada\u00a0by archeologist\u00a0Walter Alva\u00a0in 1987, including the\u00a0Lord of Sip\u00e1n\u00a0and his entourage. The museum was inaugurated in 2002. The museum was designed to resemble the ancient\u00a0Moche\u00a0tombs.<\/p>\n
